April 4, 2022 — It is time for another Wavecave roundup, and this one is coming with some heavy hitters in a few subgenres. This month, there is a little of everything from traditional synthwave to some smooth jazz-inspired tunes and even a big production with its own mini-horror movie music video. As is always the case, these catchy retro wave melodies will have you bobbing your head whether or not you intend to.
February 13, 2022 — When I first heard an artist named Primo the Alien was joining the retrowave scene, I fully envisioned a big-headed grey pushing out overly synthesized tracks that hid messages to some distant planet. Admittedly, I was a little disappointed when I realized this wasn’t the case — but that dismay waned as I dug into Primo’s discography.
February 8, 2022 — Welcome to a new series of monthly Yestermade™ roundups in which we aim to share the newest, catchiest, and coolest music releases in retro and synthwave. We danced into the New Year expecting some heavy-hitters to fill our airwaves and January absolutely provided enough star-studded music for this premiere Wavecave roundup.
January 6, 2022 — Everyone loves to use the New Year as a reason to look forward and be hopeful. We’re a little different. We like to use it as an opportunity to reflect on the 365 days we just survived through. And those days would have been quite a bit longer if not for the upbeat, energetic, electrifying, and oft-eerie sounds of synth.
December 15, 2021 — Orange County music duo Dance with the Dead just released a new music video ahead of the upcoming release of the new album Driven to Madness. The track, ‘Sledge’, is the first single from the new record which is slated to release on January 10, 2022. Typical of Dance with the Dead’s style, ‘Sledge’ is a guitar-heavy track that pulls out all the stops for a catchy, heavy, and powerful sound. READ MORE »
