April 20, 2022 — About a month ago, Konami announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection via Sony’s ever-popular State of Play event. April 19, 2022 — Revita is a new competitor in the ever-growing, packed roguelike arena. It was released on Steam’s Early Access in March 2021 and has received decent praise since. The game is now ready and launches in complete form on Nintendo Switch and Steam on April 21. April 13, 2022 — Triangle Strategy is a sequel on two fronts. It is the spiritual successor to the seminal Final Fantasy Tactics which has not seen a mainline game since the 2007-2008 Japanese launch on the handheld DS. It is also the second game to use Square Enix’s patented and decidedly gorgeous HD-2D aesthetic since Octopath Traveler was released in 2018. The game has a lot to live up to. April 8, 2022 — Dawn of the Monsters is a simple concept. It mashes together the popular Japanese film craze of giant monsters wreaking havoc on cities with an old-school brawler — it might also be inspired by Rampage. It was published by WayForward in partnership with the developers over at 13AM Games. Because WayForward is involved, the game is like a spiritual sequel to an older title of theirs called Godzilla: Domination.
April 1, 2022 — Some may confuse Weird West with another indie game known as Hard West. Both are themed around the Old West and feature top-down gameplay. However, Hard West is a strategy RPG like XCOM while Weird West is a cover-based, top-down shooter. This may be a surprising revelation — at least it was for me, as I thought the game was another strategy RPG.
March 19, 2022 — Tunic was cooking for a long time in the indie oven. It began as a game called Secret Legend and was first shown off at trade shows in 2015. Eventually, the name was changed to Tunic. Even with the title change, it can be seen from early footage that the setup of the game’s mechanics had not changed that much over the course of its impressive seven-year development cycle. So, the big question is, was Tunic worth the wait?
